DR. ALICIA RING
ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN
Dr. Alicia Ring grew up in Downeast, Maine, and knew she wanted to become a veterinarian since she could remember. She graduated with a BS in Animal Science from the University of Maine at Orono in 2000 and then traveled to the midwest to study veterinary medicine at Iowa State University, where she earned her degree in 2004. Her travels weren’t over, though, as she and her husband moved to Portland, Oregon, to begin their careers. She practiced in small animal veterinary medicine as well as at a no-kill cat shelter called Cat Adoption Team, where she rescued her infamous cat Sparky who had been electrocuted on a utility pole. Finally, in 2007 her family had the opportunity to move back to their home state, and they jumped at the chance. Since that time, Dr. Ring has practiced as an associate and a relief veterinarian all over southern Maine. Her special interests include internal medicine, dentistry, and exotic animal medicine. She lives in Saco with her husband and four children, Lucas, Anna, Alex, and Elizabeth, as well as four friendly felines. She enjoys reading (in those rare snippets of free time), baking with her children, and spending time at the lake with her family.
DR. KAYLA PORCELLI
ASSOCIATE VETERINARIAN
Dr. Kayla Porcelli grew up in Portland Maine. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Maine at Orono and her veterinary degree at Colorado State University. She has been practicing small animal medicine for seven years – as an associate in Colorado and Florida, and most recently as Chief of Staff in a hospital right outside of Boston. Dr. Porcelli knew she’d eventually end up back in Maine and joined Casco Bay Veterinary Hospital in 2023. Her special interests include dentistry, dermatology, and helping clients care for senior pets. She lives in Buxton with her fiancé (also a Maine native) and her two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys being active outside, seeing live music, crafts, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

She has always had a passion for animals and has 3 of her own fur children at home. She is originally from France and moved to the Midwest at a young age with her family. Brooke’s passion for helping pets and, more broadly, promoting preventative services and the benefits to our “Pet Parents” is something she enjoys in practice. COURTNEY
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
Courtney is from Nashville, TN, and grew up a military brat, finally settling in Maine in her teens. She lives in Portland with her husband and their young daughter. After a few years of working as a pharmacy technician, she shifted gears, and CBVH welcomed her aboard the team in late 2018.
She is passionate about creating an inviting environment for pets and owners alike, educating clients (especially new pet owners!), and loves having the opportunity to be a great first impression for the hospital.
With all due respect and adoration for dogs, Courtney is most definitely a cat person. Her family currently has two feline friends – Cleopatra and Tito. At any given time during her childhood, there were at least three family cats. Courtney’s love for animals truly stems from her mother. She helped transport dozens of rescue dogs in Tennessee, and they had several foster pups in their home.
ELISSA
LICENSED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Elissa is a Maine native who grew up in Bucksport and always had pets, including many rescued cats over the years, which made her desire to help animals grow strong at a young age. Previous to Casco Bay, Elissa spent six years at a small animal clinic in South Portland upon graduation from the Veterinary Technology program at UMA-Bangor. While Elissa enjoys the science and medicine aspect that being a veterinary nurse involves, her passion lies in providing the best care for her patients, knowing that they are important members of the family. She is always looking to expand her knowledge by attending local CE and applying that knowledge to her daily life as a veterinary nurse. Outside of CBVH, Elissa enjoys being a part of the SoPo community, walking her pups at Kettle Cove, cruising around the city on her moped, traveling, camping, reading, and spending time with friends and family, especially her nephew Louie. She and her husband, Ryan, enjoy spending their free time working on their camper van conversion and updating their home. They share their lives with four cats and two Georgia rescue dogs: Lulu, a chihuahua/pit bull mix & Poe, a tripod chihuahua mix.
MEGHAN
HEAD LICENSED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
Meghan grew up in Central Maine and made her way down to the Portland area when she graduated with a veterinary technology degree in 2009. She spent five years in a veterinary specialty practice and then joined the Casco Bay team in June 2020. That includes her own very special boy, a black lab named Cash.
MEGAN
TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT
Megan is one of our veterinary assistants living locally with her dog-like black cat named Gibbs, whom she had adopted from the first clinic she worked. Megan started her passion for caring for others in a human medical setting as a CNA but has always known that animals are her true passion. There is nothing she loves more than a big slobbery dog kiss and sweet kitty cuddles during her shift. In her spare time, you can find her reading a book, finding a new trail, or discovering new brunch spots in the area.
